KaliCon: Bringing Books to Life

From 2018 through 2020, Kali co-founded, organized, and hosted KaliCon, a multi-day literary convention created to celebrate independent authors and connect readers with the people behind the stories they loved.

Beginning as an ambitious regional convention, KaliCon quickly evolved into an immersive literary experience featuring dozens of participating authors, themed entertainment, reader activities, educational panels, charity initiatives, and interactive programming.

Although the 2020 convention transitioned to a virtual format during the COVID-19 pandemic, the KaliCon community continued online and remains active today.

​Invited: A Dinner to Die For

Among KaliCon's most ambitious productions was Invited: A Dinner to Die For, an immersive live murder mystery dinner theatre based on the novel of the same name.

Kali adapted the novel into a full theatrical screenplay before directing, producing, casting, and hosting the live production.

Guests became active participants in the mystery as they questioned suspects, uncovered clues, and attempted to solve the crime while dining alongside the characters.

The production featured an original cast, custom promotional materials, themed photography, immersive décor, and live audience participation, transforming the novel into an unforgettable interactive experience.

Whether appearing on television, interviewing fellow authors, organizing conventions, directing theatrical productions, or meeting readers at signings, Kali's work has always centered on building genuine connections within the reading community.
